James D. Frankowski age 84 of Northwood, OH peacefully went to be with the Lord surrounded by family on Wednesday July 27, 2022 after a lengthy illness. James was born November 25, 1937 to the late Stanley and Helen (Nowak) Frankowski in Toledo, Ohio on a cold Thanksgiving Day. He was a retired 35-year employee of General Mills. James was a true outdoorsman. He was one of the first charter boat captains on Lake Erie. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He also sold countless pelts throughout the United States and Canada. James also had a passion of carving duck decoys and had put endless hours into making each one perfect. He was very proud of them and showed everyone that came to his home. On weekends you could find James at a local flea market or auction finding his next treasure. James also enjoyed going to the Hollywood Casino and playing cards or dice games while spending time with his sister Gina. He was preceded in death by his wife Kay, son James Jr, aunts Virgie and Dorothy and a nephew Michael. James is survived by his son Jeff (Beth) Frankowski of Vermilion, OH, grandchildren Jeffery II (Alexandra), Jessica, Jerrid (Rebecca), Jacob (Quincy) and Zakery, plus bonus grandchildren Jayden and Cashden, great grandchildren Addisyn, Aubree, Aurorah and Gavin.
