Other notable entries:

Bob Lund entered his decorative bald eagle with an impressive 36-inch wingspan. This was commissioned by a man who is having a custom display cabinet built to honor his father's military service to our country. This stately eagle will grace the top of the cabinet.

Jeff Thomas entered a flock of eight working killdeer on sticks. People appreciated the fact that these were from his yard where they have successfully attracted other birds for observation.

A special thanks to Mark Langenderfer and wife Kate who organized and conducted the Kids Painting contest Friday night. Fifteen children had fun painting sanderlings.

We are sorry if we have inadvertently left out anyone's name, entries, etc., so please e-mail your corrections to us.

Last of all, many of the Maumee Bay Carver members who won at the show, also attend the Wednesday night Carve-Alongs at Woodcraft in Toledo. This is where we exchange advice, trade tips, share patterns, carve, paint, and work in a lot of laughter. These informal weekly gatherings keep the interest and momentum going to complete the next carving project. Everyone is always welcome and hope to see you soon!
