![]() James T. Manning, 83, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his home. Jim was born November 6, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to William and Ruth (Marvin) Manning. He served in the United States Army and was employed with General Mills for 35 years. A lifelong hunter and fisherman, Jim wrote numerous articles on the outdoors and was a cartoonist for the Monroe Evening News and Outdoor Beacon. An avid decoy carver, Jim was a founding member and past president of the Lake Erie Waterfowlers and Carvers of Maumee Bay.
Jim is survived by his son, William R. (Cara) Manning; grandchildren, Beverly (Zack) Williams and William Manning; and great-grandchildren, Harmony and Zaiden. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathryn; and longtime companion, Amber “Pam” Wolfe. A Celebration of Jim’s life will take place at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 12:00 pm until time of service and military honors at 3:00 pm. Click here to leave tributes.
